I have been following our college newspaper MD for quite sometime now and I must say MD guys, if you people are reading this (and if you are not you better!!!!!) you guys (and gals) need to seriously get your shit together. I mean criticizing anything and everything that comes to your mind should not be the purpose of a newsletter. The whole vibe of the newspaper is so skeptical that by the time a reader might reach to an article that is actually good (if there is any) he is not in the mood to read further.
I once read that the purpose of a journalist is twin fold – firstly to bring to the public’s notice what wrong is going on in their society and secondly to motivate them to improve it and remain in an upbeat morale. Well it seems like you guys read half of the line and went to bed!!!!!
I mean u guys (n gals) seem to find fault with everything. There’s always this line attached with every event “could have been done better”, well I dare any of you to actually stand up and do it better if you think you can, then only you’ll realize how hard it is to put up a show.
I had the perception that the job of a newspaper is to state facts about opinions not opinions about facts, well with MD it seem to be the other was round. And there’s no OPINIONS for that matter, there’s just ‘1 OPINION’ about everything and that’s everything is CRAP!!!!! I mean the biggest of events in ISMU find the smallest of space in your newsletter and hardly any of them gets a good review. As I said there’s something wrong with everything. If the event was good according to you, then the junta was not there. If the junta was there then there was something wrong with the arrangements and blah!blah!blah!blah!
Well MD has been conducting those opinion polls off late. How bout an opinion poll on MD itself!!!!!
What say guys, game or not.

Opinion poll on MD is required,i guess, in the most indispensable sense.
First of all, it's awesome to know that you have been following MD.
Few clarifications needed here, if I may...
"...criticizing anything and everything that comes to your mind"
Well, we don't exactly go around criticizing random stuff, there is proper research done before anything is printed.
"... I dare any of you to actually stand up and do it better if you think you can, then only you’ll realize how hard it is to put up a show."
I will give my personal perspective on this and it does not reflect what other members of MD think. The reason why I did not try to be part of this brigade of people who "put up a show" (read members of ISS) is the unavoidable garbage and muck associated with it. When you do not allow somebody to be part of your team just because he hails from a certain place, it shows how "open-minded" you are. Perhaps you should start selecting people who are best suited for a particular job rather than people who come from a "suitable place". Till then I don't get the will to dare.
"... there’s something wrong with everything."
Well, isn't it so???
About Srijan not finding place in the issue, well I guess you are right to point your finger at us. It should probably have got its fair share of kudos (compared to the last one at least)
As for the opinion poll on MD, you might just get one after the vacations given that we get such varied responses for the same issue.
P.S.1 Keep those criticisms coming in. Something free of swearing might just get printed.
P.S.2 In my stint as a member of MD, this is the first time I have heard someone come out so openly against it. We probably need more of such people, you know to iron out some of the flaws you have very rightly mentioned.
see u might claim to do research and if they are as through as you claim them to be the why dont you ever right anything good about things.....and you people are competely biased against the ISS and the societies...
see for you not being wanting to be part of the system because team members are chosen on the bases of the region....tht's where we stand on opposite platforms...if you see...this year all major events hav had team members from so called other places, the society members hav been from all over the place......u shud hav become the part of the ISS and helped in bringin abt thischange in mind set...tht's wht i mean by sayin tht its easier to sit out and critisize than to jump in and change!!!!!
dear rahul
as per you remark that MD is biased against ISS, thats totally out of place....
members of MD raise issues in accordance to what is the opinion of the students not an an individual. as per the bias issue is concerned, i would just like to tell you that some of the office bearers and secretaries of ISS work for MD. so the question of bias doesnt arise at first place....
but at the same time, MD admits that there have been some lapses on part of MD.
